Each Grades Summer reading and supply lists are posted on their class page.
Recently the 5th Grade Junior Girl Scouts, as part of their Junior Patch, hosted a PJ/Movie breakfast for the Daisies and Brownies. The cost of admission was a pair of new pajamas for a child in a local hospital.
The girls enjoyed a delicious breakfast and watched a fun movie. Everyone had a wonderful time and they collected over 50 pairs of pajamas for children in a local hospital.
Our Kindergarten Stepping Up Ceremony is on Tuesday, June 18th. Children are to be dressed in their “Sunday best.” The ceremony is at 9:00 A.M., but all Kindergarten children must be at the 26th Avenue entrance at 8:30 A.M. Once you drop off your child at 8:30 A.M. you may get your seating in Father O’Malley Hall. I am reserving one seat in the front for one family member per student, so that you may have a good view for photos. Here is the seating arrangements. This will assist you if you should be on the left, center, or right side of Father O’Malley Hall.

Please don’t forget to help your child study his/her lines and encourage him/her to be LOUD & CLEAR. Please don’t forget to bring donations for our celebration on the day that was requested (depending on what you are bringing). Thank you so much for your help and cooperation for our Stepping Up Ceremony and throughout the year! We truly appreciate it and are very grateful for you! Have a blessed summer!
For the 2019-2020 school year, St. Mel’s Catholic Academy looks forward to welcoming our new Principal, Mrs. Amy Barron, our new Pastor, Fr. Joseph Fonti, and our new interim Board Chairperson, Mr. Richie Diaz.
They are eager to join the St. Mel’s family, and would like to meet you and hear from you about all the good and all of the challenges and concerns you have.
In that spirit, you are invited this Wednesday, June 12th at 6:30pm to the Church for a Town Hall meeting to discuss the present challenges and future successes of St. Mel’s Catholic Academy.
We look forward to seeing all of our present school families.
